Robbert Koldenhof

Robbert Koldenhof is the Managing Director of LIOF, the regional development agency for the Dutch province of Limburg, where he leads efforts to strengthen the region’s economy through innovation, investment, internationalization, and sustainable entrepreneurship. Appointed Managing Director in January 2025, Robbert works closely with businesses, government, knowledge institutions, investors, and the Brightlands innovation ecosystem to accelerate promising companies and technologies while strengthening Limburg’s long-term economic competitiveness.

Robbert brings more than a decade of leadership experience across both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining LIOF, he served as Director and Executive Board Member at CINOP, where he focused on educational innovation and vocational education, and previously worked with Element Materials Technology, helping scale and integrate R&D laboratories focused on high-performance materials. Earlier roles included work with public-sector consultancy BMC and Universities of the Netherlands (UNL). He holds a Master’s degree in Tax Law from Leiden University and has also completed executive education at INSEAD. Today, his work centers on positioning Limburg at the forefront of a more innovative and sustainable economy by connecting entrepreneurship, investment, technology, and regional collaboration.
