Rob McCann

Rob McCann is the President of the Hamilton Technology Centre (HTC), one of Canada's leading innovation hubs, where he is dedicated to helping entrepreneurs, startups, and technology companies grow through collaboration, mentorship, and community. A serial entrepreneur and founder of Clearcable, Rob has built multiple successful technology companies, including two bootstrapped ventures that were ultimately acquired, the latter by Canada's largest cable operator. Today, he continues to advise broadband providers, municipalities, First Nations, and network operators across Canada and the United States while fostering a vibrant innovation ecosystem at HTC. Under his leadership, the Hamilton Technology Centre has evolved into a dynamic private innovation hub supporting emerging companies and strengthening Canada's Innovation Corridor.

An internationally recognized leader in broadband, intelligent communities, and regional innovation, Rob is an inaugural board member of Intelligent Community Forum Canada, a former ICF juror and current adjudicator, and a frequent keynote speaker on smart communities, digital infrastructure, and economic development. He has served on advisory committees for Seneca and Mohawk Colleges, contributed to national telecommunications policy through the CRTC Interconnection Steering Committee, and actively supports numerous community organizations and charitable initiatives. Rob holds degrees in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and Economics from McMaster University, bringing a unique combination of technical expertise, entrepreneurial experience, and community leadership to every stage he shares.
